The Wig Expert is a TV show, set to premiere in late 2024, which is set to showcase the work of 20 wig stylists. Only 20 Wig Stylists will be chosen to create and style the hottest wigs on the new HULU TV Show "The Wig Expert." The gameshow will eliminate 19 wig stylists, with only 1 wig stylist remaining. The winner will be crowned "The Wig Expert" and will take home $10,000. Auditions for the show will end on DECEMBER 1st, 2022. All auditions must be uploaded on both instagram and tiktok within 14 days of your filled-out application form. After 14 days, your audition video will not be accepted if it has not already been uploaded. After December 1st, nobody will be able to submit any audition videos for this season. There will be a total of 20 Wig Stylists chosen for the show in early January 2023. Filming begins in late 2023 and airing of the show on HULU will be in late 2024.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Upload 2 different "REEL" videos of you styling a wig on 2 different clients, models, friends etc. The 2 videos should be a 30 second reel on both instagram and tik tok. One of the videos should showcase you doing a straight look (Get creative), while the other video should showcase you doing a curly look (Get creative). Both ombre and solid colors will be accepted.
- There are 150 different songs being used for auditions, so it is easier for the judges to locate your videos online when decisions are being made in December. Each wig stylist will be given 2 songs out of the 150 songs. The stylist must use 1 song for the video that showcases a straight hair look and the other song for the video that showcases a curly hair look.
- Each wig stylist will be given their own unique hashtags and can also add some of their own, in addition to the mandatory hashtags. The specific hashtags given to you will also assist when locating your video. Remember 2 videos must be uploaded in less than 14 days from the filled out application because judges will be searching for it within those 14 days.
- Your client (or individual you are installing a wig on) will need to upload a video showing off their hair, they must tag you (the stylist) and they must use the exact same hashtags as you and use the exact same song as you. Before working on the client, please make sure they are ok with doing this. If both of your clients are not able to upload videos showing off your work, and unable to tag you, use the same song and hashtags, it will affect your chances of being selected.
- We require that you triple check to make sure you have followed all the instructions; if you have been selected for the show and instructions have not been followed, it could cost you a position on this season.
