Please read steps 1-7 thoroughly. Steps 1-3 and steps 4-7 requirements slightly differ. For steps 1-3, you can either research and find the specific footage needed to go with your video or you can request for the right clips to be sent. If you research and do not use appropriate clips, based on steps 1-3 then your chances of being selected will be hindered. It is advised to request clips for steps 1-3 if you are unsure what to post. Steps 4-7 will be up to you on what you wish to post.
Footage Request Form
1. You must first say what the topic is about.
2. Explain that you will be talking about, in this case ikandi licious and further go on to explain who she is.
You will describe her as: She is a Nigerian rapper and Pharmacist that lives somewhere in U.S. She performed alongside Davido and Ayrastar recently at a festival (while showing clips from the performances at that festival).
3. Discuss her being on set of a reality show and how the video circulating around is of ikandi licious and another white girl talking about Africa. Mention (in your own words what is taking place in the video, then show the video and come back for commentary)
The parts below are where you will be judged on the most, so focus on perfecting it:
4. You will come back and further explain your thoughts on the video and how it impacts the world, how it relates to you and find atleast 2 different racism examples on instagram or tiktok (but you can have more than 2 examples, but no more than 10 examples).
5. Ask the audience where they are (what country do they reside) and do they face racism in their country?
6. Do Nigerians abroad face more racism and Colorism than those in African countries?
7. Finish by telling viewers to share this video with people who can relate and commenting their thoughts
The video must not exceed 30 minutes. If it does, it could potentially affect your chances of being selected.
